Keep Freshness and Movement up
Vary your weapons and kills to maintain Freshness, and keep moving quickly to improve Movement. Manage both multipliers while avoiding damage instead of focusing only on how many enemies you kill.
When revisiting early levels, later weapons give you more attack options. Explosive multikills are one approach to try, but stay out of your own blast radius.
Armor helps protect the combo
Health loss breaks the combo; armor loss can leave it running. This makes armor useful against small hits that would otherwise cost health and interrupt scoring.
Do not rely on the No damage bombs upgrade to make point-blank self-bombing safe for your combo. It may still deal self-damage despite the name. Keep clear of both the blast and any lingering fire.
Perfect has three goals
Work toward the level’s:
- Time target.
- Score target.
- Complete secret collection.
Time and score can be achieved on separate runs. You can therefore plan a fast run, a scoring run and a final search for missing secrets instead of forcing everything into one attempt.
Use the targets in your own level’s results and selection screens. A number from a different chapter is not the target for yours. Lore and secrets are distinct fields; do not treat visible lore totals as an extra Perfect requirement.
Pick a useful next run
If score is the missing goal, focus on varied attacks, movement and surviving without health loss. If time is missing, concentrate on the route. If only secrets remain, take the time to search rather than sacrificing an already completed time or score goal.
