Try disabling gamepad detection
If the menu mouse does not respond, or selecting a new binding plays a sound without changing the displayed key, try the game’s disable gamepad option.
- Turn off gamepad detection with that option.
- Return to the menu and test mouse selection.
- Select the key icon for the action you want to rebind, then try assigning the new input again.
This is a fix to try for those symptoms, especially when the game may be detecting controller input. Other input problems can have a different cause.

Note which mouse, keyboard or controller is connected and exactly which action fails. Use the official Steam discussion area to report a reproducible problem.
